Lets take a look at my favorite sports teams now. The St. Louis Rams, at 15-65 over the last 5
seasons, have the worst record in the NFL during that span. The Washington Wizards currently sit at 0-7
and are the only team left in the NBA this season not to have won a game. The Washington Nationals, at a game that I
was actually at, humiliatingly blew a 6-0 lead in game 5 of the NLDS after
having three occasions in which they were one strike away from victory. Additionally, my new beloved Michigan Wolverines
have not won a national championship in football or basketball in nearly two
decades. But, more than I can even
describe, I still love sports. Having
played sports throughout my life, I have a true appreciation for the greatness
I see when watching the best athletes in the world play their game.

I think it is a very special thing to be so invested in
something when you have absolutely no influence over the outcome. Though some fans may think that the socks
they wear or the chair they sit in may help their favorite team (my dad has a
gameday outfit down to his underwear that he swears brings the New York Jets
good luck), fans cannot control what happens on the field. This is why sports to me are the real-world
soap opera. There are ups and downs,
twist and turns, and dramatic climaxes that make sports enthralling to follow
and exciting to watch. Trust me, there
are few feelings in the world better than watching one of your teams win a
epic, close-fought battle. This is why I
will continue to watch every Rams game, I will still check the box score of
each Wizards game, I will persist in checking free agency rumors of the
Nats, and I will always love my Wolverines. Go Blue
