Waking up. Sometimes
it can be great and sometimes it can just feel like you will die if you have to
get out of bed. It has been quite a
change from high school. With school
starting at 8 and living about 40 minutes away (with traffic) I had to get up at
about 6:30 every day. Now my earliest
class usually isn’t before 11:30 and I live a mere 10-minute walk away from
class. But, somehow, I feel just as
tired. On days where I can sleep in this
year I have slept to twelve or one o’clock.
I do not like it. In my old life, never really sleeping past 9:30, I had
the feeling of having the entire day in front of me. Sometimes now I feel like that by the time I
wake up I do not have time left in the day to do the things that I need to. Like English blogs for example.
One thing that really annoys me about sleeping late is
missing breakfast, which is actually my favorite meal by far that they serve in
the dining hall. Some egg whites, bacon,
potatoes, great bagels, its like a hotel buffet in there. Did you know that they have a
“make-your-own-omelet” section in the corner?
Just amazing. However, the dining
hall does not serve breakfast past 11:00.
There is nothing worse then showing up for breakfast and seeing
cheesesteaks being served. Everyone has
always told me that breakfast is the most important meal of the day; that
breakfast should be your biggest, heaviest meal. What happens though if you don’t wake up
until 12:30? Does lunch become
breakfast, lunch come at 7:30, and dinner turn into late-night pizza house at
two in the morning? I don’t know about
you, but that just does not sound like a productive way of life to me. That is why I am making a vow to get up
earlier. Thanksgiving resolution
perhaps? Is that a thing? I’ll let you know how it turns out.
